Getting the Hang of this Blogging thing!

A blog from the desk of Art and Design by Teresa Cowley
My art and design blog continues to take shape and develop. I feel good things moving forward!

I haven’t forgotten the update posts along with all the art and design stuff, I promise. Honestly, I’m still learning how to blog and trying to work on improving my social media. It took me a while to get into the mindset to actively work on my dreams.

The first thing I wanted to do was start getting a good blog post schedule and I’m happy to report so far, I’m succeeding! Posts have been made at least once a week since February 1st. The post schedule is Thursdays at 9:00am pst. If you’d like to get notified of new posts, scroll to the comment section. You should see a subscribe link that will let you either subscribe to comments on a post or the entire blog. Emails are used for post notifications once a week only.

At this point, the goal is to get a good variety of content while sticking with the art and design theme of my website. But I realize that doesn’t mean I can’t put in these updates here and there. Maybe even some off topic adventures as the weather continues to improve as well. It’s all about balance!

The Social Media Madness

A mad scientist brainstorming about social media
The "mad science" of trying to grow on social media is definitely challenging for me.

Being a bit introverted, getting my social media off the ground and growing is definitely challenging! Algorithms don’t make it any easier either.

Normally, numbers aren’t what matter to me. It’s not a popularity contest. But having said that, a healthy social media presence builds trust and legitimacy around an artist, designer or content creator. That is important to me as I hope to be able to sell my work at some point. There’s also a side of me that does want to reach out and make connections despite being an introvert.

If you’d like to see more of my work and want to connect with me, here are links to my social media:

Art and Design Shop Talk

"Leopard Paint" Lady's top design by Teresa Cowley
This is one of my acrylic paint pour mixed with animal print Experiments I made with the help of AI art tools. This is called "Leopard Paint" and this is how it looks as a Lady's top on my LeGaleriste shop.

I’m working on a series of abstract leopard and tiger portraits for my LeGaleriste wearable art shop. These came about while doing some experiments with animal print I’ve been doing lately with AI art tools. I love the spontaneity that can bring and even more so, editing or reworking the results.

I’ve started a collection of the designs I have so far. It’s called Wyld Animalz and the top in the image above is in it. Check it out if and any of the other collection on my shop!

I love my LeGaleriste wearable art shop and the quality of products is amazing. The samples I’ve gotten with my art are beautiful and well made. Having said that, I realize it’s a bit on the higher end so I’m going to look at what other shop options I can have in addition to it.

Follow Up to My EngagementBoost.com Review

A bit ago, I wrote a review of EngagementBoost.com. This is a “service” that claims to help grow your Instagram account. My experience was not good at all and I felt the need to warn others about it. I offered to make a “deep dive” post into what I found while doing research on the “service” which I still plan on doing. It’s important. So that’s still coming.

The Art and Design Journey Continues!

The art and design journey continues on the creativity train!

That’s it for this update. Ugh, I need two of me sometimes! I could get more done faster that way, haha. I’m working on balancing making content, art and design stuff and making sure I have enough “me time” so I’m not getting overwhelmed while working on building my dreams. So far, so good but it’s a work in progress.

I’m actually really proud of myself for not listening to doubts anymore – from myself and others. To have finally found the determination to make this happen. You’re a part of this journey too simply by reading this. Thank you so much for doing that! I appreciate it.

I’m always looking for ideas for my wearable art and other offerings going forward. What’s your favourite pattern, print or design style? Let me know in the comments!
