Why Purple is My Favourite Colour and What it Says About Me

A surrealist landscape in mostly purple colours.

I was trying to think of ways to help you all get to know me better. How about we start with some of my favourite colours? My top favourite is purple. You might be thinking, “why on earth is this important?”, but bear with me – colours can say a lot about a person. In fact, psychologists have spent years studying the associations between colours and personality traits, so let’s dive in!

Purple has always been my top favourite colour. There’s something about it that draws me in every time I see it. Even at its palest hues, it has a lot of depth in it, to my mind. It gives you room to think, to process anything you might be going through, or simply to inspire creativity. It makes me feel happy and at peace, yet excited and energized. It’s also the colour of my birthstone, amethyst.

Now, you might be thinking, “that’s all well and good, but what does it say about you?” According to the psychology of colours, purple is associated with creativity, spirituality, and individuality. People who prefer the colour purple are often deemed to be imaginative, visionary, and independent. They tend to march to the beat of their own drummer and are comfortable with expressing themselves differently from others.

So, if you’re someone who loves purple, chances are you’re a creative and free-spirited person who isn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd. You might have a strong sense of self and a desire to express your individuality in all aspects of your life. You might also be drawn to spiritual practices or have an interest in exploring your inner self.

Of course, not everyone who loves purple fits this description, but it’s interesting to think about the associations between colours and personality traits. I’ve always found it fascinating that something as simple as a favourite colour can reveal so much about a person.

In conclusion, my love for the colour purple is more than just a personal preference – it’s a reflection of my personality and the way I view the world. I hope this has given you a little insight into who I am as a person, and maybe even inspired you to think about your own favourite colours and what they say about you.

This image shows a woman standing indoors with her face obscured by a large, red stamp-like overlay that reads "EXPOSED" in capital letters. Below the word, there's an additional message that says "WE ARE LOOKING FOR AMBASSADORS DM US TO APPLY" in white lettering against a semi-transparent black background. The woman appears to be dressed formally, indicated by a black garment and a pearl necklace. The environment suggests an indoor setting with soft lighting and a blurred background, in a room with a window to her left.
