This is an image of a stylized travel poster displayed on a wall. The poster features layered mountain landscapes with varying shades of blue and green, and an orange and yellow sun setting or rising in the background. At the bottom, there's a small red structure that resembles a traditional Asian pagoda. The poster has a retro minimalist design aesthetic with the title "TRAVEL" at the top in large, bold lettering. The poster is framed and hung on a blue wall, flanked on the left by a tall, dark vase with dried reeds and on the right by a potted plant with broad green leaves resting on a stack of hardcover books. The colours and composition suggest a serene and inviting scene.

This image features two women in front of a marbled gray background. The woman on the left has long, wavy blonde hair and is smiling gently at the camera. She wears a light, flowy top with a marbled pattern in shades of blue, pink, and white. The sleeves are short and draped. The woman on the right has dark, curly hair styled up, and a more serious expression. She is wearing a similar patterned top, but with a structured collar and a belt cinching at the waist. The colors of her top are in a softer palette compared to the other woman's. Both garments have a silky texture and the overall impression is one of a fashion photoshoot.

This is an image of a modern building with distinctive Art Deco architectural features. The facade is symmetrical, highlighted by its smooth curves and bold, streamlined forms. It's painted in a vivid mustard yellow, with vertical fins and a series of steps leading up to a central, rounded glass doorway framed by ornate metalwork. Flanking the glass entrance are two rounded projections, each featuring a set of narrow windows following the curve of the wall. The building stands out against a backdrop of more traditional, white apartment buildings and a partly cloudy sky.

This image shows a stylized classroom scene with a fantastical element. A young boy with brown hair, dressed in a school uniform, is facing a chalkboard. Standing next to him is a teacher, with her mouth open as tells a story, and her hair appears to be blown back by an unseen force. The chalkboard itself is the canvas for an imaginative scene that breaks from reality: a cloud-shaped cutout reveals a vibrant landscape featuring a majestic castle surrounded by greenery and smaller structures, suggesting a scene from a fairy tale or storybook. The contrast between the ordinary classroom setting and the magical imagery on the board creates a whimsical and engaging visual narrative.

About Me

My name is Teresa Cowley, a visually impaired (but not blind) graphic designer and digital artist from Victoria BC. I started out in about 2001 designing posters for my local community centre with the mentorship of a former staff member who had a background in graphic design. I eventually went from informal mentorship and self learned techniques to winning awards for some of my work.
